Consumer awareness on Package Commodity Rule

Dimapur, September 26 (MExN): The Consumer Society Dimapur District (CSDD) informs to the consumers to be more vigilant while buying hazardous electrical items in the name of “Electronic Ballast”) (Polymax or Apollo) which are already marketed by M/S Uma Electricals, Kolkatta, without any clear identity of proof of manufacturer in the packet and other lack of mandatory declarations of informations to the consumers in violation of the Package Commodity Rule to dupe the innocent consumers.
A press note issued by T. Hetoyi Yeptho and Pradip Kr. Sethi, president and press secretary respectively of CSDD stated that its members have given awareness recently to the following wholesale, and retail sale dealing firms: M/s Parasnath Electricals, M/s B.D Lights, M/s B.J Electricals, M/s Raj Electricals, M/s Light House, and all of Dimapur town about Package Commodity Rule and requested not to encourage the outside fictitious markets for sake of their items on the for of Unfair Trade practices for cheating the consumers by taking full advantage of non declaration of MRP also in future.
Further, the note said that awareness of mandatory MRP information to declare in the Package Commodity Rule is also awarded to some of the manufacturers, packers and also retailers of food items like muri, bhujia and others dealing in candles, table tennis bats, vehicle accessories etc in the safeguard interest of consumers.
