The consumer awareness programme was held in Zunheboto Government College Auditorium on September 9. It was organised by the Department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection Zunheboto under the theme “Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection, The Journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047.”

Easther H Yepthomi, Retainer Lawyer, Zunheboto District Legal Services Authority (ZDLSA) shared on consumer awareness. The consumers can fight for the rights and can complain to the legal services authority for the breaking the rules in unfair trade practices and false representation on businesses.

The consumers can refund the thing they bought which does not meet the required standards.

A single person can stand and fight for the rights. The seller must provide bill to the consumers, the consumers can fight with the bill receipt as evidence. 

Easther highlighted that the Dal, Soybean and sugar were transported from the company with premium quality packaging but if the sellers is selling by dividing the kilograms in transparent packaging and must write the manufacturing date and best before in the slip inside the transparent package as same as company dates.

Earlier in the programme, Hiloto chaired the programme. A keynote address was delivered Khevishe Z Zhimomi and vote of thanks pronounced by Pukhai L Swu.
