Kohima, September 8 (MExN): The Nagaland Government Registered Class-1 Contractors Union (NGRC-1CU) has summoned Maytas Infra Ltd, Gayatri Project Ltd & Ratna Infrastructure Projects Pvt. Ltd to meet the union‘s leaders in person over issues concerning the Lonleng-Chantongya road, Mon-Tamlu-Merankong road, Phek –Pfutsero road and Zunheboto-Chakhabama in Nagaland.
The union mentioned of a “calling notice” to the three firms “to come accordingly to clarify the confusion within 7 days time w.e.f September 6, failing which the union shall take its own course of action against them and they shall be held responsible for any consequences or lost arises therein.”
The action committee of (NGRCCU) met on September 2 as a follow-up action to a representation in August submitted to the Minister PWD (R&B) Nagaland in regard to contract works for the 2 lane Lonleng-Chantongya road, Mon-Tamlu-Merankong road, Phek -Pfutsero road and Zunheboto-Chakhabama road awarded to M/s Gayatri Projects Ltd and M/s Maytas Infra Ltd.
A press release from the union today informed of a decision to summon the chairman/ managing director of Maytas Infra Ltd, Gayatri Project Ld & Ratna Infrastructure Projects Pvt. Ltd meet the union’s leaders in person at the union office situated near the office of the Chief Engineer PWD of Nagaland, Kohima. The note was appended by President KC Angami and general secretary L Pukhato Shohe.
Further, the union requested any local contractors who had accepted work from the stated firms to report to the union at the earliest. The union reiterated its earlier resolution that in the event of “requiring subletting of works by the principle contractor, first preferences is to be given to local contractors and to be executed through the NGRC-1CU.”
The union has also convened a general meeting to be held on September 17, at 10:00 am at the Heritage Bamboo Hall, Kisama and has urged all its members to attend without fail.
