Church is the most important place/ building for the Christian believers where hundreds of people from all walks of life regularly meet for various spiritual purposes without any discriminations. The recent outbreak of pandemic Coronavirus (and other epidemics from time to time) has once again reminded us about the importance of more regularly keeping this place (also) sanitized and hygienic.
All of us are aware that the Germs or Viruses are powerful enemies of the human body which eyes cannot see (but only powerful electron microscope can).There are many contagious diseases (by touching),airborne diseases (by breathing in/inhaling) ,and others, which can be transmitted unless proper hygiene is practised. Since Hygiene is a study or set of principles for maintaining human health, the Church Authorities may also continue to make the Worship places more users friendly and more hygienic by regularly taking care of the following areas,namely,keeping the Church Worship Services well ventilated and sunny/lighted by opening the required number of doors, windows and fans (if Air Conditioners are not in use);sweeping and mopping the floor with disinfectant very often;cleaning and sanitize the Benches/pews with disinfectant at least once in a month; all the window and door Screens/Curtains (if in use) be dry-cleaned/washed periodically; the walls ,windows,doors,ceilings be cleaned to do away with dirts and dust; the Church Authority may create awareness regarding maintenance of clean personal hygience amongst its congregation;cleanliness of the toilets and washing facilities within the Church premises are also not to be overlooked.Thus , it goes without saying that for regular sanitary and hygienic measures, the Churches have to reflect more amount in its annual Budget. Other Non-Church Institutions / Organisations may also intensify its campaigns with these suggested and other better practices and make it as a regular routine for physical safety . After all, ‘GOD HELPS THOSE, WHO HELP THEMSELVES’. This is just a layman’s point of view being contributed with malice towards none.
