The Kohima Science College's (Autonomous), Jotsoma mission to ensure availability of safe hand sanitisers continued on Tuesday with the handing over of 15 litres of hand sanitisers to the Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima (NHAK).

What’s unique about the gesture is that the sanitisers were prepared by the college in its laboratory and conforms to the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) specification.

“NHAK received hand sanitisers today i.e 17th March, 2020 prepared by Kohima Science College, Jotsoma as per WHO’s specification," the NHAK Managing Director Dr Thorhusie Katiry informed in a press release.

A team of faculty led by the Principal, Kohima Science College handed to the Managing Director, NHAK in the presence of Medical Superintendent, NHAK,” the release said.

"The Managing Director, NHAK express deep appreciation for the thoughtful action on the part of the college to make available the much needed sanitizer during this stock crisis in the light of the pandemic CONVID-19," it added.

The NHAK also urged the college to continue the good endeavor and look forward for their corporation in the times to come, Dr Katiry said in the release.

It must be mentioned here that a day earlier, the Regional Centre of Excellence for Music & Performing Arts (RCEMPA) Jotsoma was also a recipient of a similar gesture from KSC.

Sharing the news on its official Facebook page on March 16, the Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA), Nagaland posted: “In a situation where all Hand Sanitizers have gone out of stock, Kohima Science College Jotsoma has come to the rescue by developing Hand Sanitizers in their Laboratory.”

“RCEMPA is blessed to have received the first bottle for immediate use,” it added.
