Over 140 traders have been inoculated with the vaccine, KCCI said. N Bhavani, ADC Kohima visited the office and asked the KCCI to continue the registration for the remaining traders so that session can be conducted as and when vaccines are made available.
Dimapur, June 21 (MExN): A number of COVID-19 vaccination as well as awareness drives continued across the Nagaland as the State tries to ramp-up its inoculation process in the recent past. State’s DIPR, on Tuesday, reported that such drives were held in several places in Peren, Kiphire, and Tuensang districts.
Tening: The Social Welfare Department, Tening in collaboration with Administration & Medical department organised an Awareness-cum-vaccination drive for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) at Tening Community Helth Centre (CHC) on June 21.
During the occasion, the Additional Deputy Commissioner and Chairman SDTF for COVID-19, Tening, Rosietho Nguori, NCS gave a briefing on the importance of Covid vaccination for the citizen in general and PWDs in particular.
Further noting that vaccination is the only means to protect oneself from the virus, he encouraged the gathering to avail the opportunity offered to them by the government. In case of any issue, the Administration and the Medical team are willing to assist the people in whatever way possible, he added.
Short speeches were delivered by MO, AYUSH, Dr Nuksung Jamir and Disability Representative, Cherachun in the programme chaired by Poshan Block Coordinator, Social welfare Department, Dibin Nbung.
Kiphire: The District Task Force, Kiphire on Covid-19 and in collaboration with 7Assam Rifles organised a special vaccination drive on June 20, coinciding with the Father's Day celebration, at Helipad ground, Kiphire.
A total of 22 first dose and 4 second dose for 45 years above were administered during the drive while 149 beneficiaries between 18-44 years of age also availed the vaccine.
Meanwhile, with an aim to vaccinate the entire district, Medical Department, Kiphire carried out sensitisation drive at Tethuyo Village, Sangphure Village, Sitimi Village, Seyochung Village and Phisami Village respectively on June 20.
Leangkonger, Tuensang: At Leangkonger, the CHC Shamator in collaboration with Assam Rifles, Shamtor Battalion conducted a COVID-19 vaccination drive on June 20.
MO, CHC Shamator Dr Mhathung gave a brief presentation on the importance of vaccination while Leangkonger Village Council acknowledged MO, CHC Shamator and MO AR Shamator battalion, Dr. Jacob and team for coming forward with the initiative.
The event saw positive response from the villagers, DIPR reported.
