Dimapur, June 29 (MExN): Three more villages under Zunheboto district have achieved 100 percent COVID-19 first dose vaccination coverage to all eligible beneficiaries.
According to a press release from the District Media Officer, CMO Office Zunheboto, Sekho Sophie, the three villages were Lizu New under Zunheboto Sadar, Izheto under Akuluto block and Vishepu under Satakha block. The village GB’s and elders came forward with a determination to vaccinate all its eligible citizens with the COVID-19 vaccine to make the village 100% vaccinated, the release stated.
A total of 84 eligible beneficiaries were vaccinated in Izheto, 97 in Lizu New and 179 in Vishepu village. As per the release, the Block Task Force Satakha led by ADC TL Kiusumong Tikhir handed over cash reward to Vishepu village for vaccinating all its eligible beneficiaries, as a means to motivate and encourage others to come forward.
The release stated that the 100 percent coverage was made possible with active participation from the Administration, Village GBs, Village Health Committees, Village Council Members and village elders along with medical staff.
