COVID awareness drive launched in NFR

Maligaon, October 8 (MExN): As part of the country wide special drive to further enhance the awareness about measures to restrict the spread of COVID-19 virus, several programmes were held throughout Northeast Frontier railway (NFR) on October 8.

A press release from the NFR CPRO Subhanan Chanda informed that the special campaign was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from New Delhi in the morning, followed by an interaction by Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Railways and Commerce & Industry, with General Managers and other senior officials of entire Indian Railways through video conferencing.

The minister appealed to make it a mass movement among Rail Parivar and rail users.

As part of the programme, General Manager/NFR Shri Sanjive Roy administered the pledge at NFR/HQ, Maligaon in presence of staff and officers of HQ.

Similar programmes were also held at all the five divisional HQs located at Tinsukia, Lumding, Rangiya, Alipurduar and Katihar and important railway establishments and stations, the release informed. Banners were placed at various prominent locations to create awareness, it added.
