‘Creatively Naga’ fashion extravaganza on July 25

DIMAPUR, July 22 (MExN): A fashion show under the theme ‘Creatively Naga – A Fashion Extravaganza’ is being organised by the Institute Management Committee (IMC), Women Industrial Training Institute (ITI) on Monday, July 25 at Niathu Resort, Dimapur.
The event is conducted as a project work of the students in partial fulfillment of the Advance Module on Fashion Technology. As per the syllabus of the Institute, the students are required to display the dresses designed and made by them. The show is aimed at boosting the morale of the students and also to provide a platform to highlight them and their work.
The Women ITI, located at Kushiabil, Dimapur is managed under Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) mode with Government of Nagaland as the public partner and Window Media, Dimapur as the private partner under the aegis of Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGET), Government of India and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The ITI has 5 trades under general category, namely – Electronics Mechanic, Stenography, Secretarial Practice, Computer Operations & Programming Assistant (COPA), Knitting, Hair & Skin Care. The trade – Cutting and Sewing has been upgraded to Apparel Sector and has been adopted under Centre of Excellence category.
The Centre of Excellence on Apparel sector offers Basic Module (one year) and Advance Module (six month). The ITI was adopted under PPP mode in the year 2010 and the first batch of 23 students is about to graduate in August 2011. The event will be declared open by the Chief Secretary of Nagaland, Lalthara. Noted personalities from the glamour world, Zubeno Mozhui, Atemla Jamir and Nise Meruno will be the judges.
