Dimapur: The three day Crash Course in Sound Engineering organized by The Crescendo in collaboration with K. Lanu Aier is into its second day today. The event got underway from July 26 and will be wrapping up tomorrow.

Mike Williams, a renowned Audio Science Counselor and Lanu Aier, Bass guitarist with the renowned local band Squadron, would be educating the participants on new and advanced trends in sound engineering .

Crescendo, a music enterprise from Dimapur, specializing in imported musical instruments had initiated the Crash course in collaboration with Lanu Aier, to spread more awareness about the changing concepts of sound engineering in modern music.
“We specially came up with the idea to equip musicians particularly from the Churches about advanced concepts of sound innovation” said Akum Jamir, proprietor of Crescendo.

“Till now the response from the churches has been encouraging. There are several representatives from Chakesang, Ao and Lotha churches and we are hoping they would further share and spread the new knowledge that goes into class-music” he added.

The organizers also said that most of the kinds of sound systems in use in Nagaland were more or less dated and through the Course, people would “hopefully realize there’s more to just rigging up a microphone to an amplifier.” People also had only a limited idea of the right kind of musical instruments and equipment so this course might help in at least giving an idea what or which equipment to use they added.
