Personnel of 78 Battalion CRPF distributed agricultural tools to needy villagers during a Civic Action Programme at Sechuma village in Kohima district.
KOHIMA/DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 19 (MExN): The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) conducted Civic Action Programmes (CAP) in Kohima and Dimapur, distributing agricultural tools and solar lamps to economically weaker sections of the local population.
In Kohima district, the 78 Battalion CRPF organised a civic action programme at Sechuma village, where agricultural tools were distributed to poor and needy villagers to support their livelihoods. The initiative was taken following a request from the Sechuma Village Council, which had highlighted the requirements of economically disadvantaged families.
The beneficiaries were selected based on details provided by the village council after an assessment of their living standards. The distribution was carried out by the commandant of 78 Battalion CRPF in the presence of officers and personnel of the battalion, village council members and villagers.
Village chairman Petekhrieto Nipu and residents expressed gratitude to the CRPF for the assistance. The commandant said the force remains committed to supporting local communities and strengthening cordial relations through civic action initiatives.
Meanwhile, in Dimapur district, the 173 Battalion CRPF organised a civic action programme at F Company, Powergrid, under CAP 2025–26, during which solar lamps were distributed to poor and needy villagers from Naga United, Kuda-B, Full Nagarjan, Phaipijang and Mishikito villages.
Addressing the beneficiaries, second-in-command of 173 Battalion CRPF Dinesh Chandra Singh highlighted the importance of civic action programmes in fostering cooperation between security forces and local communities for inclusive development. A total of 16 families benefited from the initiative.
The programme was attended by deputy commandant Heiyilung Nsarangbe, DGM Powergrid W.R. Khongrymmai, OC East Police Station L. Mhathung Patton, inspector Shishupal Singh Jat, OC in-charge F/173, sarpanch of Kuda-B Saso Savino, sarpanch of Mishikito village D. Kughaho Chophy, and media representatives.
