CRPF rescues dilapidated Diphupar Government Primary School

Dimapur March 30 (MExN): The dilapidated Government Primary School at Diphupar Village, Lotha Colony finally got a much-needed extension courtesy the 46 BN CRPF who donated a wide range of building materials for two classrooms to be built. The person behind the philanthropic act is the Commandant of the 46 BN CRPF, Usha Kiran Kandulana who taking serious cognizance of the dilapidated school building decided that the force should render its contribution for decent classrooms under the Civic Action Program. 

The building materials were handed over to the school headmaster Edango Tsanglao and Lotha Hoho/village authorities March 30 Morning in the presence of Hoho functionaries, residents of the area, parents of students and students. The materials include metal posts, pipes, CGI sheets, structure-holders etc.

Meanwhile the school and village authorities as a token of gratitude to the Commandant and concern personnel of the 46 BN CRPF organized a small but impressive function at the Diphupar Primary School where Commandant Usha Kiran Kandulana was the Chief Guest. She was accompanied by CRPF officials including Deputy Commandant Samir Kumar Shrivastava and personnel. She was received by the gathering with a traditional Lotha Naga Guard of Honor at the function.

“The Primary school was incepted in the year 1976 with 30 students and 2 teachers on a monthly salary of Rs 60. the school has been lying in this neglected state for many years but due to the noble gesture of the 46 BN CRPF classrooms can now be updated” Vice-Chairman of the Diphupar Lotha Hoho, Zuben Lotha who chaired the function told the gathering. He expressed gratitude to the commandant for her personal involvement in the noble initiative to build classrooms for the primary school. 

Commandant Usha in her speech told the people “while the CRPF is the oldest force in the country and a military force we too engage in people’s welfare and we are for the people and we are with you.” Usha observed that in her stint as a CRPF commandant serving in the state of Nagaland she has seen one school every kilometer. “This speaks much about the culture and mindset of the Nagas. Education creates positive vibrations in life” the commandant said encouraging the students and teachers to strive for excellence. “Teachers are the pillars of the society and they enrich the minds of the people and their quality of life” Commandant Usha Kiran Kandulana, who will soon be leaving Nagaland on a transfer, said.

Earlier in the programme the CRPF personnel were treated to traditional musical presentations by three Lotha cultural groups Narsen, DLCC and Senthen. Students from the primary school also sang the chief guest some heartwarming school hymns. The invocation was offered by Reverend Yankey Patton while the Vote of Thanks was proposed by N Yanarao Tsopoe, Diphupar Lotha Hoho Chairman.
