CS reviews implementation of Poshan Abhiyan scheme in Nagaland

Kohima, September 14 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Secretary, Binchilo Thong IAS reviewed the implementation of various schemes and programmes under national flagship programme ‘Poshan Abhiyan’ (National Nutrition Mission) during the Poshan maah (National Nutrition month) by line departments in the state at a meeting held at the Chief Secretary’s conference hall on September 14.  

The Chief Secretary was briefed by the line departments on the activities being undertaken by the respective departments during September. The activities under the Poshan Maah is focused to consolidate improving nutrition among the targeted children, pregnant women etc and on improving basic health facilities, sanitation and overall improvement of the health of the target groups.  

The Chief Secretary called on all the departments involved in it to make concerted efforts to see that the entire exercise bear fruits. He also suggested that whenever state level programmes is being launched, the Governor and Chief Minister should be well informed and they should be invited to launch the programme. The Chief Secretary also inquired the activities at the districts, sub divisional and at the village levels. He said coordination action is the answer for success.  

Earlier, Social Welfare Secretary & State Convergence Plan Committee Chairman Sarah Ritse presented to the Chief Secretary about involvement of line departments and their activities being undertaken during the month.  

All the line departments have shared their plan actions being undertaken during the month and also the activities which are to be launched shortly with the Chief Secretary.  

The Poshan Maah activities are expected to gain momentum in the state following launching of a number of programmes in the coming week. All Nodal Officers from line departments attended the meeting.
