CSCF backs Legislators, CM on Naga peace process

Dimapur, July 22 (MExN): The Concerned Senior Citizens’ Forum of Mokokchung has expressed deep appreciation and thankfulness to the Joint Legislators’ Forum (JLF) for taking what it termed as “the right decision to step down from their present position any time to pave the way for any alternative political arrangement that may end up the ongoing Indo-Naga political stalemate towards bringing an acceptable and honorable solution needed by the Nagas at this juncture”.

“It is highly appreciable to learn that on 19th July, 2012, they have resolved to form a join team of the JLF to impress upon the Govt of India, Naga underground groups and various political parties comprising of 17 members both from ruling and opposition party with this political agenda. The Forum fully endorsed such kind of positive decision ever taken by the Naga elected members irrespective of political affiliation in the past”, stated a press note issued by Bendangangshi and Temjenkaba, on behalf of the CSCF, Mkg.

The Forum stated that it found no reason why Government of India including Naga National workers should not listen to such a “positive move initiated by the elected members in response to the cry of the Naga populace that may fulfill the Naga political aspiration”.

The CSCF also appreciated Neiphiu Rio, the Chief Minister of Nagaland “who might have proposed to the Prime Minister of India for formation of an interim government comprising all Naga underground factions and reiterated to step down any time for larger political interest of the Nagas”.

The Forum noted that this was “the right way of demonstration acting as political facilitator on the issue of ongoing peace process as promised Mr. Neiphiu Rio, the Chief Minister of Nagaland”. The CSCF appealed to the Government of India and all the Naga National workers irrespective of factions “to support this kind of positive move that may require God’s given wisdom to see the light in the right direction”.
