Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) President Seve R. Vadeo said the current generation has inherited so much good from “our forefathers and our elders and as Chakhesangs, we are proud to have so much positive virtues which have been attributed to our community, attributes like- courage, hard working, honesty, etc.”

Vadeo said while mentioning positive attributes of yore, “It is also saddening that we have also inherited some iniquitous practices which have become detrimental to the progress of our people.”
He said not only do we need to join the educational movement which operates under the assumption that knowledge is the most powerful tool, “we have to create lasting, relevant social changes for the community.”
He said that there is nothing more critical than the quality of one’s personal education and their ability to communicate such ideas effectively and constructively to others.
Armed with education, we must take up action on those conventions which are wrong but yet have been left unaddressed, he added.
