CUET to apply in Nagaland University from next year

Kohima, October 25 (MExN): All Students seeking admission for Undergraduate Programmes (UG) in Central Universities of North-East including Nagaland University will have to appear for  CUET from next academic session i.e., 2023-24.

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) was introduced for admission into all UG Programmes in all Central Universities under the Ministry of Education, (MoE) for academic session 2022-23 but that Central Universities in NE including NU was exempted from the exam this year.  

However, from the next academic session i.e., 2023-24, all students seeking admission for UG Programmes will be required to appear for the CUET, stated a notification issued by the Directorate of School Education, Nagaland on October 21.

As per the MoE, the CUET, among others, is aimed at providing a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates across the country with single examination enabling the candidates to cover a wide outreach and be part of the admissions process to various Central Universities.

Likewise, the CUET for Post Graduate (PG) programmes was introduced from 2022 session.

The syllabus for undergraduate level is based on the understanding of subject at class XII level, irrespective of affiliations to any board.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the computer-based test for both CUET UG&PG Programmes this year with objective type multiple-choice questions. Once the results are declared, students will be admitted to various programmes on the basis of their CUET Scores.

The first edition of CUET for both UG and PG Programmes in 2022 were conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The CUET (UG) was held in 6 phases in July-August while the PG test was held in September 1-11.
