Department of Social Work at St Joseph University (SJU), Chümoukedima celebrated cultural and literary day 2025 at the university auditorium on September 16.

Chümoukedima, September 17 (MExN): The Department of Social Work at St Joseph University (SJU), Chümoukedima celebrated cultural and literary day 2025 under the theme “Voices of Unity” at the university auditorium on September 16.
The event saw participation from 96 students, four Research Scholars, and six faculty members. The inaugural session featured addresses from Dr Pramodini Magh, Head of the Department, and Professor Charles Mhonthung Ezung, Dean of Student Affairs, who both emphasised the importance of cultural preservation, unity in diversity, and tolerance.
The day's programme included a cultural chant and a collective singing of the SJU anthem. A vibrant cultural segment featured student performances divided into four teams, presenting folk songs, folk dramas, a Mr. and Ms. Ethnic competition, and folk dances.
The event also included traditional games such as fire-making, top spinning, bamboo walking, and a tug of war. The team "2gather for battle" was declared the overall winner and received a cash prize of Rs. 5,000.
The valedictory session was addressed by Dr. Kevitsalie Jerome, Assistant Professor, and a vote of thanks was delivered by Finance Secretary Toinali Kiba.
