With Pendulum of COVID-19 positive cases surging day by day in our State and with the announcement of Lockdown 5.0 SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) & guidelines with lots of relaxations, It is very concerning and alarming for Poor State like Nagaland to cope with the magnitude of possible community Transmissions. But though not undermining the possibilities, soothing and positive news is that since the entire populace of our State already spend two (2) months plus under Lockdown Though with meager tests, It is evident and with assurance indicates that by the grace of our Almighty the Great, still as of now apart from Stranded returnees from outside our State, There is no COVID-19positive case among the insider within our State. With many Quarantined returnees raising their Concern over non- testing of their health status before leaving the Quarantine Centre, the circumstances of which is adding more panic and trauma in the midst of the situation. Hence, I just want to put forth some of my suggestions for Govt. perusal:
1) To curb this dreaded Virus from further escalating, stringent COVID-19 protocol & New order has to be issued against all the Quarantined returnees. Besides, Fourteen(14) days of compulsory Institutional Quarantine, Regardless of their health Status, They should be put on another additional 14 days of mandatory Self home quarantine or Community arranged Quarantine centre under strict supervision and surveillance. So, That altogether 28 days of quarantine as per WHO (World Health Organization) guidelines is achieved in order to completely annihilates any chances of virus from eruption and contamination through Stranded outside Returnees.
2) With Inter-State movement SOP relaxed, it is obvious that inflow of thousands of Non-Locals/outsiders especially from our bordering State of Assam and Manipur is going to take place profusely in a few days to come. Thus, it has become more apprehensive that Community Transmissions is imminent if unchecked with extra care and cautious from here on. Yet, To save our State from this likely Scenario of ‘Doomsday’, without delay the government and its machineries has to fully concentrate and Spend more & more money and its resources at Inter- State Border Entry & Exit Point, Air/Train/Public & Personal Transport Routes & Strict vigilance, man power & Reinforcement has to be deploy at by Foot crossing/entering route at inter-State Border and under any circumstances no one should be allowed to crossed/entered and intrude in our State without proper verification and without providing COVID-19 free certification from the appropriate authority.
With mounting pressure of COVID-19 positive cases that is on rise day by day ,Our State already on the verge of reaching Saturation point of accommodating & Treating COVID-19 positive patients from among the outside returnees itself. It is Therefore, Before things get out of Control, The Govt. should focused more on Point-2,Compulsory testing of all the Quarantine Returnees & outside Returnees and Rigorous & uncompromising Check on inflow of outsiders at Entry Point. Needless to mentioned, with shabby & substandard health care facilities that is available in our State, The need of the hour is more prayer and God Wisdom, So that the Govt. in power and all its stakeholders could execute work Plan with Precision and without lapses and Regrets for the safety of all and most importantly the Co-operation & tactfulness of the general Public is needed the most.
