DBHS, Chiephobozou gets new school building

Government urged to review and revise implementation of RTE

DIMAPUR, MARCH 6 (MExN): The New School Building of Don Bosco High School (DBS) Chiephobozou, costing 92 lakh, was inaugurated by K. Phesao, Director, Higher Secondary Education, Nagaland and blessed by Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima, Nagaland.

The Chief Guest, K Phesao unveiled the monolith and inaugurated the New School Building of DBS.  He, in his speech, thanked God for creating out of love. The Bishop in his speech underlined the commitment of the Catholic Church for educational, health and social apostolate for the development of the people. The Church is rich, he said, not because it has money, but because of its committed priests, religious sisters and co-workers, who have dedicated their life for Christ. They do not take a salary they deserve but live on an allowance, he added.

He appealed the government to review and revise the implementation of RTE, to suit to the unique situation of Nagaland. As it is implemented now, we would produce many literate, but unemployable youth who have not alternative means of employment and then become source of trouble for the society, he stated.  He reiterated the commitment of the Catholic Church to serve the people of Nagaland with utmost commitment and dedication without counting the cost, and requested the people to cooperate with the Church to serve better.

Neibalie Rio, PRO conveyed the greetings from Neiphiu Rio and appreciated the bishop of Kohima and the principal of DBS for the building constructed for the people of the place.
Fr. Mathew Keemattam, principal of DBS welcomed Phesao, Bishop James, Bodeno S. Colo Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chiepbobozou, village leaders, special invitees, parents, students and the peoples all the villages nearby.

Mhalezolie Metha, the member of the school managing board in his speech highlighted the history of the school and appreciated the service of the Catholic Church in the area for the cause of religion and education.

The students of DBS felicitated the gathering through a welcome song, prayer dance and with the special song. Sr. Rose Abiliu, Headmistress of the school extended the words of gratitude to K. Piesao, Bishop James, Government Officials, Fathers, Sisters, Public leaders, Chairman and Council members of different villages, members of the Managing Board, contractors, Parents, Catholic Community Chiephobozou Parish and to all the invited guest for their presence and contribution and collaboration.
