Dimapur, January 20 (MExN): On the occasion of the 69th Republic Day of India, Dimapur Bengali Students’ Union (DBSU) will organise a painting competition under different themes at Durga Mandir, Millenium Market, Dimapur from 8:30 am onwards. DBSU is also organising a painting workshop along with the competition. While the workshop will be free of cost, the registration fee for the competition has been kept at Rs. 100 per participant.
The proceeds from the registration will be used by the union to sponsor underprivileged children and for other educational charities, informed a press release from DBSU.
The themes for the competition will be ‘Northeast representing the nation/Swachata hi sundarta’ for the age group of 11 years to 15 years; ‘Child rights/women empowerment’ for the age group of 16 to 18 years; ‘Communal raids between India and different countries/secularism’ for participants of age 19 years and above. There is no specific theme for the age group of 6 to 10 years and they can paint anything, it was informed.
