DC Dimapur urges government servants to deliver services

Dimapur, September 22 (MExN): A meeting on convergence action plan on Poshan Abhiyan/National Nutrition Mission was held in the office of District Programme officer, Social Welfare at Diphupar Dimapur on September 21.  

According to DPRO Dimapur, the DC Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel (IAS) urged upon the Government servants of Poshan Abhiyan implementing departments to reach out to the targeted groups for delivering services at their doorstep. Remarking 39% of children in India as malnourished, DC said "unless we take care of them starting from conception to 8 years which is the crucial years for development, they cannot be skillful and employable." the DC felt that rural development department needs to take up construction of Anganwadi centers.  

Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Antoly, Superintendent and Food and Civil Supplies, Jamonger also spoke during the meeting. CDPO, Rural, Bonathung Ngullie in his presentation explained that the target of the mission is to bring down stunting among children in the age group of 0 to 6 years from 38.4% to 25% by the year 2022. District Programme officer, Social Welfare, S. Nezolu Rhakho chaired the convergence action plan meeting.
