DC Kiphire mandates minimum fuel reserve

Kiphire, May 28 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire district, Temsuwati Longkumer, has issued a directive to all fuel stations under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, mandating minimum reserve stocks of 2,000 litres of diesel and 1,500 litres of petrol for emergencies, as a precautionary measure to ensure smooth and regulated distribution.

The order also warned of strict action under the Prevention of Black-marketing & Maintenance of Supplies of Essential Commodities Act, 1980 against hoarding or illegal diversion of fuel, requiring that stocks be sold fairly. Fuel station managers have been directed to maintain daily stock registers and submit reports to the district administration as and when requested.

The public has been advised against panic buying or stockpiling of fuel, with authorities assuring that adequate stock is available.
