DC Kohima prohibits dumping of materials along roads

Kohima, October 2 (MExN): In the interest of public order and safety, Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS has issued an order stating that dumping of construction/building materials, stone, logs, timbers etc and parking of off-road vehicles along the road/Highway will be strictly prohibited.  The order stated that all such obstructing materials/off-road vehicles should be removed immediately by the concerned owner, failing which materials shall be removed, confiscated and disposed off as deem fit and defaulters will be penalised, off road vehicles shall also be towed away by the police at the expense of the owners. In the exigent case whereby loading/un-loading of such materials is inevitable, concerned owner should ensure that such loading/un-loading and removal are made between 06:00 PM to 07:00 AM and not prior or after the scheduled time. The order was issued on the notice of such materials and off road vehicles etc lying along the road/Highway causing obstruction to free flow of traffic and pedestrian movement.
