DC Mkg review VDBs in Changkikong range

Mokokchung, September 30 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi visited Khar, Debuia, Alongkima and Waromong village of Changkikong range to review Village Development Boards, functioning of communitized departments and to assess activities to be taken up under 13th Finance Commission in these villages.
The DC had a meeting with Village Council and members of VDB and communitized departments. Reviewing progress being made in various sectors, Lithrongla stressed on the need to give special focus on youth and women welfare under VDB fund as per the government guidelines. While trying to know the specific programmes for youth and women welfare under VDB grant-in-aid fund, Deputy Commissioner deeply regretted that due importance were not given to the two groups. She also asked Village council members and the VDB Secretary to undertake activities, which would benefit the entire community in the village.
Lithrongla also dwelt at length on effective implementation of NREGA saying the philosophy behind the NREGA is to provide employment to all jobholders under NREGA. Earlier, she visited government Middle School in the village to see herself the infrastructure facility and to assess activities to be taken up under 13th Finance commission.
District Education Officer, Mokokchung Mayang, who accompanied the DC, in his address called upon the Village council and the VEC to lift up their concern for improvement of infrastructures in the schools saying the infrastructures available in schools are not satisfactory. The Deputy Commissioner was also accompanied by EAC Mangkonglemba Imsenberong and BDO Mangkolemba Atu Imsong.
