Niuland, September 24 (MExN): Any construction of new structures, temporary or permanent, along both sides of the proposed 2-Lane Road from Showuba to Ghotovi village will now require prior permission from the concerned Area Administrative Officers, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Niuland, Sara S Jamir stated has stated.
The directive, issued on September 24, applies to all villages, landowners, and the general public settled along the alignment of the proposed road, which will connect Showuba with Guzunyu–Pughoboto–Noklak–Pangsha, it said.
Reiterating earlier instructions, the DC cautioned that no compensation will be paid for any new structures raised within the Right of Way (RoW). The RoW has been defined as 18 metres in built-up or inhabited areas and 24 metres in uninhabited areas, measured from the centre of the existing road on both sides. This stipulation has been in force since May 31, 2023, it added.
