According to DIPR, the DC Tseminyu Dr Zasekuolie Chusi issued the order following information about indiscriminate activities of stone quarries and stone crusher units along NH-2 -Henbenji and K Station village stretch jurisdiction without authorization or previous permission from the government.
Such activities therein have not only tended to encroach upon the highway land but are also hazardous with the materials/debris deposited on the road posing risks to highway traffic, it said.
After taking due cognisance of the detrimental effects connected with the activities, the Tseminyu District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) on June 17, 2022 had collectively and unanimously decided to disallow the indiscriminate and unregulated activities after a thorough deliberation, it added.
Accordingly, the DC’s ceasing of activities order was issued in pursuance of the Board's decision and exercise of the powers conferred under section 24 of the control of national highways (Land and Traffic) Act 2002, it added.
