DC Zunheboto issues security guidelines for ATC vote count

Zunheboto, June 18 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Zunheboto, Dharam Raj, IAS, has issued a set of security and conduct guidelines for the counting of votes for the Atoizu Town Council Ward-9 bye-election, scheduled to begin at 8 am on June 19 at the District Civil Supply Office, Zunheboto.

The counting programme is being conducted in accordance with the election schedule announced by the Nagaland State Election Commission.

According to the order, entry into the counting hall will be restricted to candidates, their election agents and counting agents possessing valid identity cards issued by the Returning Officer. Government officials, counting personnel and other authorised persons will also be allowed entry.

The order strictly prohibits the use or carrying of mobile phones inside the counting hall.

The district administration has directed candidates and their supporters to maintain peace and order during and after the counting process. Sloganeering, rallies, processions and any form of noise or disturbance within and around the counting venue have been prohibited.

It further warned against intimidation, provocation, teasing or any action that may disturb rival candidates and their supporters, stating that violators would face legal action under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The administration appealed to all stakeholders to cooperate in ensuring a peaceful, transparent and orderly counting process.
