DCCI clarifies on DC’s take on quota

Dimapur, March 5 (MExN): The Dimapur Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) issued clarifications today saying the organization has nothing to do with political issues. The DCCI referred its response to what it said is “DC Dimapur writes to secy. UDD on reservation options for women.” What the deputy commissioner wrote about was not mentioned in the DCCI’s response received here today.

The DCCI is ‘purely a non-political body functioning for the welfare of business community in the interest of consumers and public,’ said Akashe Zhimomi, convener of the DCCI’s grievances cell. The organization dissociates itself from the ‘news item’ as it has nothing to comment or say on reservation options for women in the municipal polls, the note said.

In other matters, the DCCI congratulates the law enforcing agencies of Dimapur for apprehending “the culprits” allegedly involved in the recent murder of Vikugha Zhimo, a timber trader. The organization expressed appreciation to the law enforcing agencies for their efforts and the Nagaland Timber Association for ‘contributing financial assistance during the search for the absconding accused in the murder case.’ The DCCI demands that the authorities book the accused and punish them. “The culprits should not be released till justice is delivered,” it added.
