Mokokchung, April 29 (MExN): A three-day long sports festival was organized by the District Child Protection Unit, Mokokchung at Care and Support Children’s Home, Mokokchung from April 24 to 26.
A press release from DCPU stated that the event was aimed to encourage sportsmanship and physical activities among children in the special Home.
Venuzo Dawhuo, the reigning champion of Nagaland Wrestling Association graced the occasion as special guest. He showcased the Naga style wrestling to the children and also motivated the children to take up wrestling as a sport. While stressed on the importance of sports in one’s life.
DCPO Samuel Kapu emphasized the significance of sports in the development of children. While asked the children to keep themselves active in sports as to keep themselves healthy.
He also told the children that the sports now has a vast scope and encourage the interested children to take sports seriously.
