Irrespective of what group you represent, irrespective of what ideologies you’ve, irrespective of what has been done in the past that caused so much division, what is left of the Naga Movement now?
On what grounds shall I defend my right and on what grounds shall I defend our Naga Army when outsiders or our own people start cursing our “Cause”? what is the legacy you want to leave for the next generation? Is it the killing and extortion of your own people or is it the legacy of a genuine fight with India for our rights?
As an individual I have spoken and defended our cause like any other Naga Patriot would, I have stood firm in our belief that our people are denied the very right to be free as a nation but what have you done to support my claim? You extort our own people, you threaten to kill our own people, you allow Non-Naga’s to carry out the dirty work, now I ask you, what are you trying to do?
Is your intention to kill the Naga movement? Is your duty and responsibility only to extort Indian Money from the very people you claim to represent? Is Indian Money worth more than our Cause? The same cause for which a lot of good men and women have sacrificed their everything, is this the legacy you want to bestow upon the new generation?
Just recently one group tried to kill a Naga Businessman for not paying “TAX” now I ask you- How Dare you? These are the people you represent, these are the people with whom your allegiance lays, without the people there is no cause, without the people you’re nonexistent. Do remember the time when the Naga people welcomed you into their homes when the Indian Army were after you, do remember the time when the Naga people gave what little they had, now this very same people are irked by your irrational senseless taxation, your lack of credibility is slowly killing the Naga Movement and I will be damned for eternity if you think or act you are not at fault.
Transparency of what is collected as “Tax” is needed once you maintain this the people will willingly donate what little they can, Non-Naga’s serving in the Naga Army is out of question, no group should shelter Non-Naga’s who does not hesitate to do as they wish in our own land just because our NPG’s shelter them. Extortion should stop, active Naga Army personals should follow the Military code of conduct like anywhere else and penalized accordingly if found guilty of wrong. It’s about time you show the Naga people that the Naga Army is not a “Curse” but a beacon of hope for our cause because our fight for freedom is genuine as it can be and this war has to be fought intellectually rather than with guns and threatening your own people is absolutely not the way to do it.
All I am saying is that, your actions should not stain our cause, when I or anybody else defends you, your actions should align with what we speak for you and for our cause. Though it’s a dream for now to see all the NPG’s under one banner yet until the day we realize that it’s really the need of the hour, do not kill our Movement with your actions.
