Dimapur, November 11 (MExN): The Dimapur Ex-Cricketers Forum (DECF) and Kohima Veterans Cricket Club (KDVCC) are set to play an exhibition match on November 13 at Sovima Cricket Ground, Dimapur. “The game will be a day/night affair and is scheduled to start at 12 noon. In this match, two teams of 11 players will play a four innings match of 20 overs per inning. Both Kohima and Dimapur will field two separate teams for this match,” the DECF and KDVCC informed in a press release on Thursday.
DECF Convener Harjinder Singh Ahluwalia mentioned that the main objective of the exhibition match is to play together, maintain physical fitness and help promote the youngsters.
He further stated that there are plans to promote veterans cricket all over Nagaland, and for this purpose, the Forum wants to collaborate with Kohima Veterans Cricket Club because of their close association and hopefully, move to other districts of Nagaland.
Expressing gratitude to the Nagaland Cricket Association for providing the platform to play the exhibition game, they further informed that a special trophy will be awarded to the team champions and runners up, and that Man of the Match will be awarded for both innings.
