Dimapur, June 28 (MExN): On invitation of the Chinese Institute of Language & Arts Dimapur, a delegation from Kunming Medical University, China comprising of Liu Hong, Director, Division of International Exchange and Cooperation, Professor Sun Jun, Dean of Basic Medicine School, Xu Xiangfeng, International Program Officer, Division of International Exchange & Cooperation and Madan Saraff, Principal, The School of Chinese Language will be arriving in Dimapur on July 8 next.
The delegation is visiting India focusing on International exchange and Cooperation, stated a press note received here. They will be meeting senior Indian Government Health Department officials and ministers during their visit. The university has decided to provide 5-30% scholarship on tuition fees to every student. The delegation will hold a meeting with students and parents on July 8 in Dimapur and leave the same day.
Jenny Haining Murry, Director of Chinese Institute, Dimapur says “this is a golden opportunity for aspiring doctors to meet the dean and director of a reputed medical university and learn more about their system of providing medical education. Students and parents will have to take appointments to meet the delegation.”
Kunming Medical University (KMU) located at Kunming city, the capital of Yunnan province, China was founded in 1933 and has trained over 70,000 graduates since its inception. It has over 6,750 staff and faculties, 1,450 professors and associate professors. The 6-yr MBBS program is recognized by the MCI, WHO, Embassy of India and other international bodies. Every year, 60 international students are admitted to the MBBS course in English. Kunming, also called “spring city of China” is just 1hr 40 mins away by flight from Kolkata.
