Dense fog likely to persist in Nagaland till January 1

New Delhi, December 28 (MExN): Dense fog conditions are likely to continue at isolated places in Nagaland during night and early morning hours till January 1, according to the weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday.

The IMD stated that Nagaland, along with other parts of the Northeast, including Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, may experience reduced visibility due to fog during this period.

Fog conditions were also reported in parts of the region during the past 24 hours, with low visibility observed at several locations.

Cold conditions have prevailed across parts of eastern and northeastern India, with minimum temperatures remaining below normal at isolated places.

While no severe cold wave warning has been issued specifically for Nagaland, the IMD noted that cold weather conditions are likely to persist, with no significant change in minimum temperatures expected over the next few days.

The IMD further informed that a western disturbance is likely to affect the western Himalayan region from December 30, with its influence extending to adjoining plains from December 31.

However, no major rainfall activity has been forecast for Nagaland during this period.
