Kohima, January 24 (DIPR): Addressing the meeting of the AHODs and HODs at the Secretariat Conference Hall on January 24, the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, Abhijit Sinha, IAS said that since the Election Model Code of Conduct has come into force from January 18 the Departments should immediately withdraw any vehicles attached to Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries, Advisers and other political leaders.
He clarified that the Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries, Advisers etc would be entitled to only the official vehicles allotted by the Transport Department during the period for performance of their official duties which also should not be used for electioneering purposes. Failures of the concerned to return the vehicles are to be brought to the notice of the CEO for necessary action.
The CEO also dwelled at length on the do’s and don’ts of the Election Model Code of Conduct for government servants.
