Dept of School Edu stresses on fair recruitment of teachers

Dimapur, May 10 (DIPR): The recruitment of school teachers being very vital for maintaining good standard of elementary education and selection of right candidates being paramount in moulding the lives of thousands of children, the department of School Education has taken all necessary steps to conduct the recruitment process in a fair and transparent manner.

The Department of School Education and SCERT has worked out modalities to ensure that deserving and rightful candidates are recruited at the recently conducted Primary and Graduate Teachers recruitment drive. To ensure that the rightful candidates are selected, the Government has directed the District Recruitment Board in all districts that in order to maintain transparency in the tabulation of the final result the marks obtained by the candidates in written shall be kept confidential in sealed envelopes which shall be opened in presence of all the selection board members only after the oral interview is over. The final result shall be declared by the District Recruitment Board in order of merit and shall be determined by marks secured in both written and oral interviews. The results of the selected candidates will be declared on May 15, 2012 simultaneously in all the districts.

The District Selection/Recruitment Board for both Primary and Graduate Teachers is headed by the Deputy Commissioner as Chairman and DEO as Member Secretary. The selection boards in the districts have been instructed to conduct the interviews in all fairness and to ensure that only the best from among the qualified candidates are selected for appointment to these very sensitive and responsible posts which has a bearing on the quality of education and future of the younger generations. 

The Government has further notified that all Primary Teachers shall belong to the concerned linguistic group and should be conversant with the lingua franca of the area, and preferable a local candidate in his/her own village provided that he/she qualifies for the very post available in a particular Schools where he/she will be posted. However, posts falling within the Municipal area of Dimapur shall be open to all candidates.

It may be stated that a total number of 2744 post of both Primary and Graduate Teachers was advertised by the Department of School Education.
