Deptts directed to provide records to Info Commission

KOHIMA, MAY 17 (DIPR): In line with Section 25 of the RTI Act 2005 the State Information Commission is expected to prepare a report on its implementation of the Act during its year and forward the same report to the Government.

As it is being done by the Central Information Commission, the State Information Commission will also prepare a report on the implementation of the RTI Act for each financial year, which may be laid in the house during the next session of the Assembly following the report.

Since the Nagaland Information Commission was constituted with effect from 14th March 2006 the report of the Commission will cover the period from 14-03-06 to 31-03-06 and for which all the Departments are to provide the information and records to the Commission.

Thereafter, the Commission will prepare the report and submit to the State Government to be laid before the State Legislative Assembly.

In accordance with the Right to Information, Nagaland Government had constituted three members Information Commission with P. Talitemjen former Chief Secretary of Nagaland as the Chief Information Commission.

As such Nagaland Government has directed all the Departments of the State Government and public sector undertaking to furnish the required information to the State Information Commission for the aforesaid period up to 31-03-2006 on or before 30-06-2006 positively.
