Niuland, September 8 (MExN): The District Administration and District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Niuland, organised a legal awareness session as part of the ongoing Special Awareness Campaign under the Sankalp initiative. It was held at the council hall in Hovishe village under Niuland on September 8, stated a DIPR report.
District Mission Coordinator V Vily Chophy introduced Mission Shakti, outlining its objectives and initiatives.
Visheli H. Yeptho, Panel Lawyer from the Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA), conducted a capacity-building session covering key legislation including the Domestic Violence Act, Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, Dowry Prohibition Act, and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (ITPA).
The event saw participation from women representing various segments of society, including the Sumi Totimi Loka and members of Self Help Groups.
The programme was chaired by Meryka Sumi, Accounts Assistant, and began with an invocation by Kikali, President of the Sumi Totimi Loka. A vote of thanks was delivered by Tunato I Zhimomi.
