
MON, AUGUST 29 (MExN): The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Mon, held its fresher’s day programme on Friday to welcome the new batch of trainees into the institute.
Speaking at the event, DIET Mon Principal, Temsuwabang, extended a warm welcome to the freshers and described it as a privilege to have them join the institution. He reminded the trainees that their time at DIET Mon would be a transformative journey aimed at shaping them into efficient and effective teachers.
Encouraging the students to cultivate critical thinking, explore widely and enhance their skills both personally and professionally, he urged them to make full use of opportunities in academics, sports, cultural and co-curricular activities for their holistic development.
The principal motivated the trainees to dream big while remaining humble, be productive, innovative and interactive, and to never stop learning. He also advised them to enjoy their stay at the institute, create lasting memories and build lifelong friendships.
As part of the event, Panglem C Konyak was crowned Mr Fresher 2025 and Chamya P Konyak was crowned Miss Fresher 2025.
The programme included speeches, songs, and presentations by both first and second-year trainees, and concluded with a vote of thanks and closing prayer, followed by lunch.
