Digitization of ILP issuance process in Nagaland

Nagaland’s Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio today maintained that a significances milestone was achieved on 1st January 2025 with the complete digitization of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) issuance process.

The state government launched the Online ILP Portal, offering a digital platform for the application, processing, tracking and approval of ILPs across various visitor categories, Dr. Rio said in his address at Independence Day in Kohima.

Till date, the total ILP issued in online mode from 1st January 2025 to 30th June 2025 stands at 26, 534 for various categories, Dr. Rio said.

The state cabinet on 15th May 2025 decided that a separate register of ILP holders residing in the village be maintained by the respective village council and strict ILP checking be done by the district administration and police in all designated places and check gates of the state including Airport and Railway station.

Further, Dr. Rio said, the state cabinet on 6th August 2025 decided to introduce new category of ILP for agriculture labour, transporters, non-teaching staffs of schools or colleges, domestic helpers and drivers, hotels, guest house, resorts and home stay to inform the nearest police station mandatorily on arrival of the guest or tenants from other state.
