DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 15 (MExN): A number of organizations from the Ao community in Dimapur has issued a statement that it will not tolerate any individual, groups, association and organization extorting or demanding any form of donation, tax or even random collection of money without any tangible reason and proof from members of the Ao community.
A joint press release issued by Ao Senso Telongjem, Watsu Telongjem Dimapur, Dimapur Ao Lanur Telongjem and Ao Kaketshir Telongjem Dimapur on Saturday said it will leave no stone unturned to apprehend the perpetrators and to bring to justice as per Ao customary laws and practices as well as existing provisions and laws of the land in the eventuality of such actions.
Further, the organizations cautioned that it may even “extend indefinite total non-cooperation to such elements/groups in the future.”
Meanwhile, the organizations appreciated the Public Action Committee (PAC) under the aegis of Naga Council Dimapur for its prompt action taken towards the incidents of kidnapping of a Naga lady from her shop at East Dimapur for ransom by a particular Naga political group, illegal demand of money from labourers of a church building construction at Aoyim Dimapur and shooting at Riven Honda showroom.
