DIMAPUR, APRIL 14 (MExN): The Dimapur Bengali Samaj (DBS) has extended greeting on the occasion of Baisakhi, Poila Boisakh and Ramnavami.
In a press note, Dimapur Bengali Samaj president, Advocate Kamala Kanta Paul said, Poila Boisakh marks the advent of the Bengali New Year and is the new financial year for the community.
“The occasion sees gift giving, visiting relatives and friends and organising cultural events. It is a social, cultural and national festival and is celebrated with the rendition of songs and presentation of dance items. Tradition and modernity blend smoothly while celebrating the day,” the press note stated.
On the occasion, the DBS wished a robust and meaningful new year to the Bengali community.
“May the pious occasion of Ramnavami bring to all the believers abundant joy, happiness and serenity. May the blessings of Bhagwan Ram enthuse people with a new sense of love, religiosity and fellow- feeling for entire mankind,” it added.
