Dimapur Bengali Samaj, Hindu Seva Samiti extend Puja greetings

Dimapur, September 28 (MExN): The Dimapur Bengali Samaj and the Hindu Seva Samiti have jointly extended warm greetings and best wishes to all devotees on the occasion of Durga Puja and Dussehra, while also issuing a set of guidelines to ensure a disciplined and environmentally responsible celebration.

In a message issued by Adv K. K. Paul, President of Dimapur Bengali Samaj, the organisation stated, “Dimapur Bengali Samaj wishes all the Sanatanis and devotees a very pious and spiritually meaningful Durga pujo and Dussehra. Both the festivals concretize the victory of good over evil. May we all, with the blessings of Maa Durga and Bhagwan Ram overcome the forces of Evil within us and come out as better and humane beings.” The message further added, “May Maa Durga bless us all and the life and teachings of Prabhu Ram help us live a good life.”

Similarly, the Hindu Seva Samiti conveyed its greetings and called upon all Puja Committee Members to join in unison to make the celebration cheerful and joyous. “With Warm Greetings & Best Wishes to everyone for our auspicious Celebration of Durga Puja from the Hindu Seva Samiti. As we prepare to rejoice and celebrate the festival of victory of goodness over evil. We request our esteemed Puja Committee Members to join us in unison to make this celebration a cheerful & joyous one. It is necessary to follow and abide by certain rules & guidelines,” it stated.

The Hindu Seva Samiti issued the following guidelines for Puja Committees: respective Puja Committees are requested to perform the Pujas in a wholesome religious Hindu spirit with good discipline and maintain decorum to uphold religious faith. Puja pandals should be erected keeping public thoroughfares unobstructed and should use eco-friendly materials while discouraging littering and pollutants. Committees must strictly adhere to the Environment (Protection) Act 1986 and Noise Pollution (Regulation & Control) Rules 2000, as well as guidelines issued by the Nagaland Pollution Control Board, and should use eco-friendly idols and straw structure idols or pandals, avoiding plaster of Paris and ensuring natural materials and organic colours to prevent environmental impact. In the puja pandals, only devotional songs and music should be played. Playing of drums, cymbals and conchs as part of the cultural tradition is encouraged.
