Dimapur: DC cautions against construction under EHV lines

Dimapur, October 5 (MExN): Dimapur Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Soundararajan has directed citizens of Dimapur not to construct any permanent or temporary buildings under extra high voltage (EHV) lines. On Tuesday, the DC issued a public notice stating that his office had become aware of several structures being constructed along the 132KV Bokajan-Dimapur line traversing through Bokajan Assam- Block 11; Burma Camp Colony, Block-2; Walford Colony, Imkonglenden Colony; Mao Colony; Nagarjan, and Naharbari. Such activities are not only a violation to the Indian Electricity Rules, 1956 but also dangerous for habitation and poses serious and imminent threat to injury and loss of life, he underscored. “Any individual or groups engaging in construction activities under the EHV lines shall be doing so at their own risk,” the notice stated.
