Dimapur, July 27 (MExN): The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Dimapur, on Monday approved the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) for 2026-27, besides clearing a proposal for registration of a society and several education-related proposals.
The meeting, held at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall, was attended by Advisor for Industries and Commerce and DPDB Chairperson Hekani Jakhalu and chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr Diana Patton.
The meeting began with a presentation on the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), Nagaland, by State Nodal Officer Dr Nyanthung Kikon of the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
During the presentation, Kikon outlined the objectives and implementation of the mission and said Dimapur has been identified as a model district under the programme.
The board approved the registration of the Covenant Foundation under the Societies Registration Act.
In the education sector, the board approved the change of nomenclature of ITIKI Montessori School to ITIKI School at Darogapathar, Dimapur. It also approved the upgradation of Grace Fountain School at Duncan Bosti from Class V to Class VIII and granted grant-in-aid to Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School at Milan Mandir.
However, the proposal for change of ownership of Zakiesato Memorial Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, was deferred for further consideration.
Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Jakhalu thanked the members for their participation and urged them to attend DPDB meetings regularly. She said members who were unable to attend should ensure that representatives attended on their behalf.
