Dimapur DPDB meeting discusses COVID-19 precautionary measures

Dimapur, March 5 (MExN): The monthly Dimapur District Planning & Development Board meeting was held on March 5 in the conference Hall of DC Dimapur. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of DC Dimapur, Anoop Kinchi IAS, who is also the Vice Chairman DPDB Dimapur.


In the meeting CMO Dimapur, a DIPR report stated that Pangjung Sangtam while highlighting on the precautionary measures for COVID 19, explained that COVID 19 being primarily a respiratory virus, spreads through respiratory droplets and therefore advised for very strict  respiratory hygiene. 


Explaining on the technique for washing hands, he said that hands should be washed frequently for 20 to 30 seconds. “Wash the palm, the back of the hand, fingers, thumb, wrist and use alcohol based sanitizers,” he maintained. He also advised for drinking plenty of water and good food for building strong immune system. He also informed that that the District Task Force formed on January 29 was fully prepared with identification of isolated wards and enough ICUs in Referral Hospital, Military Hospitals and District Hospital. Rapid Response Team is also working in the Airport and screening of the passengers with Thermal scanner is done in the Arrival terminal he informed.


Reviewing the last meeting minutes, DC Dimapur reiterated on the presence of brick kilns and stone crushers and reminded that the concerned departments would be implementing the requisite guidelines. He also felt that the registered societies need to provide volunteers in times of need and emergencies to validate the purpose for the formation of societies to help different sections of people.


Commissioner Police, Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo IPS, while stating that inconveniences may be felt by the commuters due to the ongoing road construction in Dimapur city, however, he felt that one have to obey National Highway Rules as recommended by the technical expert. He cautioned people circulating videos that may infuse problems and reminded that it was punishable under the law.


As entrusted, Power and Nagaland State Cooperative Bank presented their departmental activities.
In the next DPDB meeting, Social welfare and Police (Traffic) departments have been entrusted to present their activities. The meeting ended with a note of thanks from the chair.

 

COVID 19: Do not panic and 
follow good personal hygiene

Dimapur, March 5 (MExN): With regard to COVID 19, the DC Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi IAS has urged upon the citizens not to panic and to stay from spreading false and fabricated information and to follow good personal hygiene.


To review the preventive measures that are being taken up in the district and preparedness for possible entry of Coronavirus in the district, the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi IAS, held a meeting with medical officials Dimapur, District Task Force Airport Authority and Police at DC conference hall on March 5.
Officials from medical department briefed the gathering about the various steps taken up in the district with regard to COVID 19. 


 Informing about the availability of N95 masks for frontline workers, CMO Dimapur Pangjung Sangtam said that the virus is large in size with cell diameter of 400-500 micro, and any three layered mask available in the market can prevent the virus. The airport officials also highlighted the measures that are being followed at the airport.
