Dimapur, April 14 (MExN): A duty party of Dimapur District Excise at Newfield Check Gate recovered 205 cases of assorted Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) on April 12.
The duty party led by Allen Jami A.I.E; H/Contsable Khekavi; Constables Buden, Thejong, Khalenthong, Tsathongli, Thrilise, Wati and L/constable Sorila made the recovery at around 8:40 pm, when it intercepted a Manipur-bound goods carrier truck.
“Upon frisking the vehicle, the duty party recovered 205 cases of assorted IMFL concealed under cartons of household dairy products,” informed a press release from Tokuho Assumi, Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition, Dimapur.
During investigation, it was revealed that the contraband IMFL was loaded from Guaripur, Guwahati and was bound for Kohima while the dairy product s were bound for Imphal, Manipur, it said.
In this connection, one Md Aftowdin Ali of Khatkhati, Assam was arrested and booked under the relevant sections of the NLTP Act 1989, it added.
