Dimapur Lions Club conducts ‘Hunger-Free India’ campaign

Lions Club of Dimapur conducted a week-long ‘Hunger Free India’ campaign from January 3.

Dimapur, January 10 (MExN): The Lions Club of Dimapur conducted a week-long ‘Hunger Free India’ campaign from January 3 to 11 as part of a Lions International initiative.

The campaign included a series of service activities aimed at eradicating hunger and promoting compassion. It commenced on January 3 with dinner distribution to the needy outside the Dimapur Gurudwara, supported by the Gurudwara management.

Subsequent days saw the distribution of 50 dry ration kits in and around Dimapur and multiple dinner services for the needy outside the Dimapur Railway Station and the Gurudwara, facilitated by the Gurudwara Langar Service. An awareness campaign on “Food Waste to Food Plate” was conducted on January 7, emphasising responsible food usage. As part of a hospital care initiative, fruit packets were distributed to patients and nursing staff at Dimapur Civil Hospital on January 10.

The campaign is scheduled to conclude on January 11 with food distribution for roadside animals. All activities were conducted under the chairmanship of Lions Amit Jain and Rahul Jain, with the efforts of club members and supporters, the spokesperson added.
