Dimapur Police clamps down on crime

Dimapur, February 16 (MExN): Dimapur Police apprehended two extortionists and two others with arms in separate incidents on February 13.

PRO, Dimapur in a press release said one Mughaki Zhimo was arrested from Naharbari Junction, Dimapur. Cash amount of Rs 3000, extortion slip of NSCN (R) and one mobile handset were recovered from his possession. In this connection a case has been registered at East Police Station, Dimapur.

In a separate incident, one Aloboto Wotsa was apprehended for illegal collection of tax from ring-well construction owners in the name of NSCN (U), the release said. Cash amount of Rs 1500 was recovered from his possession. A case has been registered at Sub-Urban Police Station, Dimapur.

Dimapur Police apprehended one Vihoka Kiba from a brick kiln in Lotovi village area. Dimapur Police recovered from his possession: One .22 pistol (country made) with one magazine, five numbers of .22 live ammunitions, one .22 misfired ammunition, cash amount of Rs 28,000 and one motorcycle (B/Pulsar). In this connection a case has been registered at Diphupar Police Station, Dimapur.

In yet another incident, one Khapur Shikai Yeptho of NSCN (IM) was apprehended from a brick kiln in Lotovi village jurisdiction. One .22 pistol (country made) with one magazine, one .22 misfired ammunition, one extortion slip of Naga National Council Parent Body (NNC) and one coupon of extortion slip of National People Government of Nagaland (NNC) containing  20 leaflets (10 nos of issued slip and 10 nos of  unissued slip) were recovered from his possession. Accordingly, a case was registered at Diphupar Police Station, Dimapur.
