Dimapur Police clarify on NSCN (K) raid

DIMAPUR, MAY 4 (MExN): The Office of the Superintendent of Police Dimapur has responded to the news items carried on May 4, 2012 in the local dailies seeking clarification on IRB raid on the residence of Secretary, NSCN (K) CFSB. A press note from the Addl Superintendent of Police/PRO Dimapur, has informed that an enquiry was conducted to ascertain the truth of the incident from the family members and witnesses as well as from the IRB Units deployed for Law and Order duty in Dimapur. 

Recounting the incident, the family members stated that three persons wearing IRB fatigues without cap and without arms knocked at their residence at about 2:30 am on May 3, 2012 and as the door was opened the three asked to check the house. After checking the rooms the three left the place apologizing for the intrusion. Enquiry is continuing to ascertain the real identity of the three intruders and whether anti-socials impersonating as IRB personnel were involved, the press note stated.

However, it is claimed that there are no IRB outpost at Purana Bazar and no IRB or Police raids were conducted on the night of May 2, 2012 or morning of May 3, 2012 as alleged. It is also stated that no IRB deployments are made at Purana Bazar from 11:00 pm to 5:00 pm, the press note clarified.
