Dimapur, July 2 (MExN): Dimapur police made multiple arrests on June 28 and July 1 in Dimapur district. According to a press release from the Addl Dy Commissioner of Police (Crime) and PRO, Dimapur, two persons, identified as Manoj Deb (48) and Ranjit Debnath (50), were arrested for the murder of Bipul Boruah (48).
“The victim succumbed to his injuries in the hospital after severe physical assault by the arrested persons who alleged that the victim had stole some household items at Old Over-bridge area, Burma Camp,” the release stated. On completion of the post mortem, the body of the victim was handed over to the relatives and a case has been registered at East Police Station, Dimapur.
In another incident on July 1, police arrested one Depanker Chaudhury on criminal charges of stealing a Scooty from Sema-tilla area. The stolen Scooty was also recovered from his possession and a case has been registered at SBN PS, Dimapur, the PRO informed.
On June 28, Dimapur Police also arrested eight persons on criminal charges of hijacking a truck that was transporting construction materials and later disposing the stolen goods.
The arrested persons were identified as Kamal Sutradhara (30), Vito Muru (31), Kato Zhimo (28), Abulovi Zhimo (28), Ghunavi Chishi (25), Zhekugha Shohe (33), Tovi Yeptho (32) and Jabir Hussain (30). The release stated that one .32 pistol was also seized and a case has been registered at East PS, Dimapur.
